Most candy wholesalers hand you a 40-line price list with a different number for every SKU. Here is why we deleted ours.
The problem with per-SKU price lists
Traditional wholesale price lists price by brand prestige and by how much the buyer is assumed to want the item. That means the SKU your customers ask for most is also the one with the fattest markup, and your bin economics get worse exactly where your volume is.
Flat per-pound pricing
We price purely on weight. Every case, every brand, every category: $6 per pound. A 3 kg case is 6.6 lb and costs $39.66. A 2.6 kg case is 5.7 lb and costs $34.40. You can quote your own retail price off a single number.
| Case | Weight | Your cost | At $14.99 retail / lb |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.6 kg | 5.7 lb | $34.40 | $85.44 revenue |
| 3.0 kg | 6.6 lb | $39.66 | $98.93 revenue |
| 3.2 kg | 7.1 lb | $42.33 | $105.68 revenue |
| 6.0 kg | 13.2 lb | $79.37 | $197.87 revenue |
